Brighton and Hove Cosmopolitan seaside city

Widely regarded as Britain’s coolest seaside city, Brighton delivers cosmopolitan café culture and bohemian spirit by the bucketload. As well as a former royal palace, the city has a beachside prom, grand Regency crescents, city parks
and the stunning Sussex Downs countryside right on its doorstep.

The city’s conference venues are a world class mix of heritage and contemporary, from

the historic Dome Concert Hall and the beautiful Royal Pavilion to the award winning community Amex Stadium. The recently refreshed Brighton Centre, which has a capacity of 5,000, is the largest purpose built venue on the south coast and has the added bonus of being situated

right on the seafront.

Brighton is just under an hour away by train from London Victoria and a half hour from Gatwick airport, making it an easy to reach destination. The city is compact and getting around on foot – weather permitting – is a pleasant option. The streets are awash with chic eateries and art galleries and The Lanes and North Laine area boasts over 500 independent retailers selling everything from bonsai to bongos, designer homeware and vintage fashion; all within a half mile radius. The museums, grand Regency architecture, top class hotels and a year-round programme of festivals aim to ensure business is brisk whatever the season.

The ‘grand dames’ of Brighton’s seafront, the Hilton Brighton Metropole and the Grand Hotel, have both benefited from substantial refurbishment programmes recently to give business and leisure guests an added touch of luxury. As well as revamped bedrooms and conference spaces the Hilton has a sea-facing Champagne and cigar terrace while the Grand now boasts a luxury spa and top notch seafood restaurant.

Brighton & Hove is recognised nationally and internationally as a dynamic conference destination and the VisitBrighton Convention Bureau works on behalf of the whole city to promote its many benefits. Team members have an in-depth knowledge of the area and can provide realistic, relevant and up-to-date information as well as offering impartial support to event planners throughout the organising process.

Julia Gallagher, VisitBrighton Convention Bureau manager, says: “There’s no need for huge budgets when bringing a meeting to Brighton, we can offer bags of charm and creativity. We’ve got a great location, a fabulous range of venues and brilliant transport links plus a strong team of clued up individuals who really know the city.”
